Position the waist belt with the warning label facing inwards.
Back carry
This guide provides step-by-step image instructions on how to use the back carry with your Zeitgeist Baby Carrier. Suitable from 6 months up to 2 years (7 lb – 45 lb / 3.2 kg – 20 kg).
Place the carrier’s body panel on the left side of your body, leaving the waist belt buckle on the right side of your body.
Take the male buckle (including extra strap length) through the elastic safety loop.
Secure the waist belt by fastening the buckle until it clicks.
Slightly tighten the waist belt by pulling on the adjustable strap.
Grab the shoulder strap and pull the upper black strap attached to the shoulder strap fully through the slider. This will make the shoulder strap shorter.
Place both elastic loops over the button to secure the excess fabric.
Take the male buckle of the same strap entirely through the elastic safety loop (including extra strap length).
Feed the male buckle into the female buckle placed on the same side of the body panel (no crossing).
Feed the male buckle into the female buckle until it clicks. Now, repeat the same procedure with the other strap. Both shoulder straps should be adjusted to the same length.
Pick up your child and lean sideways slightly while holding the child on your left side.
Lift the panel up behind the child’s back, while simultaneously ensuring that the bum is centered in the panel.
With your left hand, hold both straps together around your child’s neck. Allow room for the child’s head movement.
While holding both straps together with your left hand, use your right hand to hold the waist belt and rotate the carrier around your waist.
Lean forward slightly so that your child can rest his/her weight on your back while rotating from the hip position, and keep the child secured holding both shoulder straps with your left arm.
Maintaining a slight forward lean, take the right strap into your right hand and the left strap into your left hand.
Slip your right arm through the right strap as if you were putting on a backpack. Keep holding it with your right hand.
Now slip your left arm through the left strap. Keep holding it with your left hand.
Ensure that your child’s arms can move freely.
Tighten both side straps simultaneously. Make sure your child is comfortable and not too tightly pressed up against your body.
Tighten the waist belt by pulling on the adjustable black straps until it sits tightly above your hips. Tuck the excess lengths of waist strap in the storage loop.
You can diminish excess strap length by rolling up the strap and securing it with the elastic storage loop attached to the end of the strap.
Allow room for your child’s head movement. Ensure the child’s back is slightly rounded while sitting in the carrier and child’s bottom is deep in the body panel just above the waist belt. You and your child are ready to go.
To remove your child from the baby carrier, without unbuckling, slightly loosen the right shoulder strap buckled on the side of the body panel. Do not loosen the left shoulder strap.
While holding the left strap in your left hand, grab the right strap from your right shoulder and hold it tight. Slip your right arm through as if you were taking off a backpack. Keep holding the right strap with your right hand tight and up high above your shoulder.
Repeat on the left side, be careful to hold the straps tight and above your shoulders and the child’s head.
With your left hand, hold both straps together around the child’s neck. Allow room for the child’s head movement.
With your right hand, slightly loosen the waist belt without unbuckling, to allow room for movement.
While holding both straps together with your left hand, use your right hand to rotate the carrier around your waist and position the child on your left side.
Now, hold both straps together with your left hand and hold your child with your right hand to release the hold of the straps.
Use your free hand to place one strap at a time behind the child’s back. Your child is free to go.
