Adjusting your zeitgeist baby carrier

The Zeitgeist Baby Carrier is newborn ready and adjustable to different sizing positions meeting your baby’s growth. It is suitable from newborn up to two years (7 lb – 45 lb / 3.2 kg – 20 kg). This guide outlines how to adjust the carrier’s body panel and neck cushion.

Adjusting the body panel to four different sizing positions

The Zeitgeist Baby Carrier’s body panel is adjustable to the four different sizing positions depending on the length and weight of your baby. Different sizes can be created by adjusting the snaps that are hidden inside the waistbelt as shown below.

The snaps, hidden inside the waistbelt, can be adjusted for a personalized fit for your baby. Always make sure that the body panel's fabric runs from your baby's knee to knee for optimal ergonomic support.

    From 3.2 kg / 7 lb until a maximum weight of 7 kg / 15 lb.

Slide the body panel inwards to the smallest size and attach one snap accordingly on each side. Leave the other snaps unused.

Until a maximum weight of 9 kg / 20 lb.

Slide the body panel to a wider setting and attach two snaps accordingly on each side. Leave the other snaps unused.

Until a maximum weight of 11 kg / 24 lb.

Slide the body panel to an even wider setting and attach three snaps accordingly on each side. Leave the other snaps unused.

Or from 6 months for the front carry facing out. Until a maximum weight of 20 kg / 45 lb.

Slide the body panel to the widest setting and attach all the snaps accordingly on each side.

*Please note that the described age should be used as a guideline. When adjusting the body panel’s size, always check if your baby’s knees are higher than his/her bum and if the fabric is fully supporting his/her thighs.

Assembling your Zeitgeist Baby Carrier for the front carry facing in

When adjusting the body panel’s size to find the correct fit for your baby, always check if your baby’s knees are higher than his/her bum and if the fabric is fully supporting his/her thighs. This is the “M” position, explained and shown below.

    “M” POSITION

When the body panel is adjusted correctly to fit your baby’s size and needs, the baby is positioned in the “M” position.

TOO NARROW FOR YOUR BABY’S FIT

When your baby’s thighs are not fully supported, the body panel should be adjusted to a wider setting.

TOO WIDE FOR YOUR BABY’S FIT

When the fabric reaches beyond your baby’s knees, the body panel should be adjusted to a narrower setting.

Adjusting the neck cushion to three different positions

The neck cushion can be adjusted to three different positions depending on the age of your baby and the desired neck support. These positions are shown below.

Neck cushion folded down on the inside.

Neck cushion folded down on the outside.

Neck cushion up for extra neck support.

      OPTIONAL

Arms out, neck cushion folded down on the outside.

*Please note that the described age should be used as a guideline.

There are button holes and elastic loops attached to both sides of the neck cushion. With these button holes or elastic loops, you can attach the neck cushion to the gold finished buttons on your carrier’s body panel or shoulder straps. For a tighter fit, you can use the neck cushion’s button holes for more neck support. For a little more room for movement, use the elastic loops.

      FOR A TIGHTER FIT

The neck cushion is buttoned through the button holes for a tighter fit or a smaller baby.

FOR A LITTLE ROOM FOR MOVEMENT

The neck cushion is attached to the buttons with the elastic loops for a more loose fit or a larger baby.

Assembling your Zeitgeist Baby Carrier for the front carry facing out

Wearing your baby facing out is advised from 6 months onwards. Using the facing out insert, when forward facing, ensures that your baby remains in an ergonomic position with the knees higher than the bum. When facing out your baby can easily become overstimulated, therefore we recommend to limit carrying your baby in this position to 15 minutes at a time.

The instructions below highlight how to find the correct fit for your baby when wearing him/her in the front carry facing out position, and how to adjust the neck cushion accordingly.

Carousel with product instructions. Use Next and Previous or slides' buttons to browse

        “M” POSITION

The body panel should be adjusted to the widest setting with all snaps attached accordingly when wearing your baby facing out to ensure that the baby is positioned in the “M” position.

TOO NARROW FOR YOUR BABY’S FIT

If the body panel is not adjusted to the widest setting, your baby’s thighs are not fully supported. The legs become positioned more vertically which is not an ergonomic position for the baby to be carried in.

        ADJUSTING THE NECK CUSHION

Neck cushion folded down on the outside attached to the body panel with the buttons through the button holes. Your baby’s arms should be able to stick out comfortably on the sides.

This guide outlines the front carry facing in and front carry facing out. If your baby is at least six months old and has sufficient head and neck control, you can start wearing your baby on your back.
