If you are uncertain if your wrap is safe to use because it is damaged, please contact us at email@example.com. It might be necessary to send your wrap to us for a check.
Artipoppe wraps are designed for ergonomic babywearing only, meaning:
A little reminder to never wrap your baby in the “cradle” position. It is a high risk carrying method, in which the chin can slump forward on the chest and the baby can suffocate within a few minutes without making a sound. Next to that the cradle position doesn’t provide a good Spread Squatting Position which is optimal for the hip development of the baby.
When selecting what size wrap to purchase it is important to consider what type of carry you would like to do, as well as what size you and your baby are. In general a size 6 is good for a Front Wrap Cross Carry as seen in our “How to wrap?” section. You can pick a shorter size when experimenting other carries, like a rucksack carry or choose a size 7 if extra length is needed.
Please read our “Size Guide” and safety guidelines before you start wrapping.
If all safety instructions are considered it is advised to use an Artipoppe wrap from birth until both caregiver and child no longer feel comfortable with it.
Consult an expert if your infant was born with a low birth weight, such as a premature or twins, or if your infant has respiratory illness or other respiratory problems. Extra vigilance is required with these babies.
Attend to and check on baby often, especially those under 4 months of age.
Artipoppe wraps and ArtiCapes are being woven and finished in the Netherlands. For the materials we make use of specific expertise, such as cashmere from Mongolia, wool from Scotland, merino* from New-Zealand, Qiviut from North-America and cotton from Egypt.
Our scarves are made in Florence, Italy, the centre of fine woven woollens since the Middle Ages.
*we are paying close attention to our merino suppliers and request “mulesing-free” certificates for all merino yarns we source.
Always follow washing instructions on the tag.
In general we offer machine washable and hand wash products.
Wash at a 30 degrees celcius on a delicate programm. Line dry in the shade. Only use liquid detergent and do not use softeners. Do not tumble dry, though a careful tumbling AFTER drying may fluff and soften your wrap to the max. Hot steam iron.
Swirl in lukewarm water with a gentle liquid detergent (“no-rinse” detergents are not advised, do not use detergents that hold lanolin, both can cause colors to bleed). Rinse gently in clean water, same temperature as the previous bath, do not use running water. Squeeze and press water out without wringing. Fold your wrap between towels and roll up. Press the roll to remove excess water. Dry flat in the shade. Iron on wool or silk setting.
ArtiCapes can best be professionally dry-cleaned or carefully hand washed.
