Fabric Blends

Artipoppe’s products are skillfully crafted using jacquard woven fabrics from natural yarns such as organic cashmere, linen and hemp.

Choosing the right blend for you and your baby is important. It may depend on personal preference, the climate you are in, care instructions, and more. The guide below helps you to choose what fabrics are the best pick for you.

An overview of different fabric blends and materials

Cotton

Cotton is one of the most common fibers in the world. It is soft, vegan, and extremely unlikely to irritate the skin. A product made from cotton is a year-round staple: Not as cool as linen, yet not as warm as hemp or cashmere. Particularly breathable and soft straight out the box, our cotton items are machine washable and easy to care for.

Linen

Linen is a natural material that is sturdier and more supportive than other materials. It is known for its beautiful irregular features where natural thickenings and slubs are part of its characteristic appearance. Linen is smooth, cool to the touch and your best choice in summer during high temperatures.

Hemp

Hemp is a durable yarn that has been used for thousands of years in the Middle and Far East. It is firm, typically last four times longer than cotton, and is very resistant to mold and other threats to fabric quality. Products crafted with a hemp blend are cushy and bouncy with a natural sheen.

Cashmere

Cashmere is derived from the fine dehaired undercoat from the cashmere goat. It is known for its extreme softness, warmth and lustrous quality, a result of the extremely fine fibers. Products made with cashmere have a smooth feel and are your best choice for cold temperatures during winter due to its great insulating qualities.

Silk

Silk is a natural fiber that is characterized by its strength and versatility. The material is suitable for both warm and cold weather. In hot temperatures it wicks moisture, keeping you cool and comfortable, yet on colder winter days it keeps warm air circulating close to the skin due to low conductivity. Silk has low elasticity, lacking that ‘bounce’ compared to other fabrics and blends.

Vicuña

Vicuña is the most rare and exclusive wool in the world, even softer than cashmere. It is known as the softest, warmest material and has wonderful wearing qualities. Our vicuña products are hypoallergenic and suitable for wearing straight on the skin. The vicuña camelid is a protected animal, therefore Artipoppe pays great care to sourcing and only uses yarns certificated by CITES.

Sustainability

Working with nature instead of against it, that is our philosophy when sourcing materials. Artipoppe’s fabrics and materials are obtained from producers that respect the environment. If you wish to know more about our sustainability vision and responsible sourcing, please read more here.
