The Meeting

The Meeting

Dear me,

A quiet reshaping is happening, not all at once, but in subtle, unrelenting waves.

Every day that brings the baby closer, brings me closer to you. Not the version that performs, that achieves, that keeps the pace with the world’s noise—

But you, the one beneath.

The one that you’ve glimpsed in moments of stillness…

The one who awaits to be born, too.

I thought labor would be about endurance,

but I’m beginning to see it will be about surrender.

Not to pain and not to fear.

A surrender to truth.

To the raw, powerful, earthy self who has always been there…waiting.

And as I slow down—by necessity, by gravity, by grace—I meet you more and more.

In the quiet resistance to urgency.

In the courage to say: “Not now. I’m becoming.”

In the understanding and acceptance that just being is already enough.

I am not disappearing in this transformation. I am emerging.

Some parts will shed, making room for something new.

What remains is the fierce, the softened, the real.

So I’ll keep listening.

To the rhythm of breath, instead of the clock.

To the life inside me, moving tides.

To you. This deeper me, who grows closer to my reach, each day that I let go.

I am changing.

And it is good.

With strength,

Me
