Change

Change

Dear me,

They may have changed you, but you allowed yourself to be changed. Not an easy task for you, I know. What a remarkable experience to both live and bear witness to.

This is a love note to you, a moment of deep acknowledgment and reverence for the surrender you allowed. I think back to the time you felt so lost and how you so beautifully realized that lost was actually a new (surprising) truth that had already been found.

The truth was, you weren’t actually lost. You were simply learning how to accept what you had found. You were learning how to soften into it, how to be okay with it, and how to put a different part of yourself, one you deeply admired and respected, down for a bit. I’m proud of you.

This is a love note to you, a moment to tell you how much I respect you for choosing a new path. What you did was brave. You moved away from the known into the unknown. You chose unfamiliarity over familiarity. You chose sacrifice. And you allowed yourself to feel the grief and the loss all while feeling the expansion, presence, and beauty that was there too.

They may have changed you, but you, sweet one, you allowed yourself to be changed. You allowed yourself to be affected. You allowed love, transformation, healing. I am forever grateful.

With all my love,
me
