A Mother is Born

A Mother is Born

My love,

They were right when they said that with birth, a new woman is born—one with more passion, strength, and zest for life. The insecurities of the past vanished, making way for new challenges your maternal instinct guides you through. This motherly inner knowing is a little flame burning deep within your soul. And it keeps on burning. As long as your children live and are healthy, you live too, but now, somehow more fully…more than ever before.

That time before motherhood, plagued by a sense of self-pity, disappeared. It made room for pride. In a living mirror, you see yourself reflected every day. One smile from your child is now worth more than a thousand words. Especially the unkind words of others no longer touch you. All that emotional pain from before is dissipating even if your heart still battles with your mind sometimes. Yes, you are human. But there is so much progress…and I am so proud of you.

The growth you’ve experienced since your children arrived in your life transformed you into a woman more determined–more you. The old you is still within, I know…and you keep her in your embrace, loving her for all that she was, but you can sense that she is fading away, little by little. That’s okay. The new you is now center stage, perfect just as you are. And loved fully.

You might not like to admit it, but my love, trust me, they were right–birthing your children has birthed a new, more powerful you at the same time. Mother. That is who you are.
